Måneskin is an Italian rock band composed of Damiano David (vocals), Victoria De Angelis (bass), Thomas Raggi (guitar) and Ethan Torchio (drums).
After a first collaboration between singer Damiano David and bassist Victoria De Angelis, in November 2015, a few years after their first meeting, David contacted De Angelis again with the aim of forming a group; the guitarist Thomas Raggi, a friend of De Angelis in middle school music, and the drummer Ethan Torchio joined the group through an ad posted on a Facebook group.
In 2016 the group took part in the Pulse - High School Band Contest, winning it, and for the first time used the name Måneskin, a Danish word (translatable into Italian as Moonlight), De Angelis' native language.
In 2017 they take part in the eleventh edition of the X Factor talent show and, after passing the initial stages of the program with great success, they rank in second place, under the guidance of mentor Manuel Agnelli.
The Måneskin immediately manage to make themselves known and appreciated by the Italian public and beyond, winning several prizes and awards.
They participate in March 2021 as competitors of the Sanremo Festival, who will win thanks to the song Zitti e buoni which will lead them straight to victory also at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
